The little things in life are what counts most.  (Something I let my husband know on a daily basis it seems).  But, ya know sometimes it’s the little things we let consume us.

Momming is hard, ya’ll.  It’s a constant battle between feeling like a total badass and feeling like I’m screwing it all up.  Elliott’s doing something dumb (he’s a toddler, so, duh).  Do I let him do it and learn from his mistakes?  Do I swoop in and save him so he doesn’t get marginally hurt?  Who’s gonna let me know I was wrong either way?  This. Is. Hard.


This little Glamour Shots baby is Elliott.  This perfect, little, squishy face literally saved my life.  More on that another time.  After 3 miscarriages over 10 years, God blessed me with the most perfect baby that has ever existed.  He’s charming and funny and sweet and sassy with chubby cheeks and the most adorable way of saying “Mommy”.  I literally thank God for him every single day.  He’s also a bad sleeper, like me.  I thought I was going to lose my…

Family Ties

I come from a very large family.  I am the youngest child of twelve.  Growing up I regaled in the fact I had 6 brothers (big brothers) and 5 sisters (beautiful).  I guess like too many folks I took this family very much for granted.  I now have 2 brothers and 5 sisters living.  My parents have passed on.  It is so true you don’t appreciate everything you have until it is gone.  Then one day you wake up and you are feeling so alone.  Phone calls you took for granted are something you long for.
